Lexicon Bank Spotlights Community Driven Non Profit, The Just One Project

Local Bank teams up with The Just One Project bringing the gift of food this holiday season to those living in food deserts across the Valley.

LAS VEGAS, November 1, 2022--- Lexicon Bank announces The Just One Project as its November Community Spotlight. The Bank made a monetary donation and will be volunteering with the organization to help fund their mission of increasing access to healthy food and services to those in need across Southern Nevada. The Bank is also helping to drive awareness and the promotion of the upcoming holiday events to garner support and volunteerism.

According to Feeding America, Nevada has 332,040 people and 116,360 children facing hunger; that is 1 in 9 people and 1 in 6 children. Nevada estimates needing $172,562,000 more per year to meet food needs.

The Just One Project was created back in 2014 to serve the Southern Nevada community and help bring groceries to those in the Valley dealing with food insecurities. Since it's inception, the innovative client-centric organization has grown to include wraparound services and touches over 20,000 lives monthly, bringing peace of mind to those in underserved communities across Southern Nevada.

The Just One Project’s November events include:

  • Skip One. Give One. For Just One. - November 1st marks the launch of The Just One Project’s national campaign to educate and encourage the community to donate monthly so families can have a full pantry of groceries.

  • Round Up Program - Launching in November, the Round Up Program will encourage people to round up and donate remaining change from their order to charity. Keep up with all things Just One for the announcement of experiences and partners of the program coming soon.

“I am excited to be working with an organization as great as The Just One Project,” said Stacy Watkins, Lexicon Bank President, and CEO. “The holidays are about giving, and The Just One Project doesn’t just give, they help pull people up. This organization is changing the lives of hundreds around Southern Nevada and we are honored to spotlight them this month.”

To further combat food insecurity, Lexicon Bank is proud to team up again this year with the Las Vegas Rescue Mission through its annual canned food drive happening now thru November 17th. The Bank seeks additional help from its clients, partners, and community supporters in donating canned, boxed, and non-perishable goods to help those in need for the holidays. Donations are accepted at the Bank anytime during business hours, Monday through Friday from 9 AM-5 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM-2 PM.
