Lexicon Bank Donates $5,000 to Scleroderma Sprint To Help Fuel Efforts Finding A Cure For Deadly Disease Impacting Hundreds in Clark Country

Southern Nevada’s Community-focused Banking Partner Spotlights Scleroderma Sprint to Rally Support, Drive Advocacy and Help Raise $1,000,000 for Scleroderma Research

LAS VEGAS, August 1, 2022 —  This August, Lexicon Bank is proud to support Scleroderma Sprint, an event dedicated to raising awareness for the currently incurable Scleroderma disease, in its monthly Community Spotlight program. Lexicon Bank donated $5,000 to the cause in efforts to help raise awareness of the deadly disease and get closer to finding a cure. The Bank seeks additional help from its clients, partners, and community supporters in raising money to help Scleroderma Sprint reach its goal of raising $1,000,000 for Scleroderma research.

Scleroderma Sprint is a supercar driving experience and gala benefiting the Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center and is dedicated to increasing awareness to undiagnosed patients throughout Clark County and Nevada. The event, being held on October 6, 2022 at Speed Vegas, will allow participants to literally race for a cure in the world’s most exotic supercars. After racing, a formal Gala will be held at Caesars Forum, hosted by actor and comedian Bill Bellamy. There will be performances by Spiegelworld shows, including Absinthe, and the menu will be curated by celebrity chefs including Emeril Lagasse, Robert Irvine, Aarón Sánchez, and Top Chef Master Rick Moonen.

Scleroderma is an autoimmune, rheumatic, and chronic disease that affects the body by hardening connective tissue. In Clark County alone, it is estimated that there are hundreds of undiagnosed patients at any given time. Scleroderma is the deadliest of all autoimmune conditions and there is currently no cure.

Lexicon Bank’s support is part of the Lexicon Bank Community Spotlight program, a monthly initiative that highlights local non-profit organizations that are making a difference in the Southern Nevada community.

To help raise awareness and fight for a cure, Scleroderma Sprint is raffling off a first-edition Dodge SRT Hellcat; raffle tickets can be purchased online for $100, and monetary donations are also accepted. All proceeds go directly to research efforts to help find a cure for this disease.

“We are proud to support Scleroderma Sprint this month in their efforts to help find a cure for this devastating disease,” said Hilary Nelson, Lexicon Bank Senior Vice President and Director of Operations and Compliance. “Having a close connection to this disease, I am excited to help spread awareness of this disease and am looking forward to The Scleroderma Sprint event this October.”
