LAS VEGAS, February 1, 2021 —  Lexicon Bank, Nevada’s community-focused banking partner, teams up with The American Heart Association in Southern Nevada (AHA) this month to sponsor its Go Red for Women initiative, and participate in National Wear Red Day, a day aimed to raise awareness on heart disease and stroke in women. While supplies last, visitors who stop by the Lexicon Bank branch throughout February can pick up a complimentary red dress pin, then on Friday, February 5, 2021, the official kick off day for American Heart Month, the Lexicon Bank team will wear red, standing with Go Red for Women to ensure that everyone in Nevada has the opportunity to live a longer, healthier life.

This partnership with the local division of the AHA is a part of the Lexicon Bank Community Spotlight program, a monthly initiative that highlights local non-profit organizations that are making a difference in the Southern Nevada community.

Go Red for Women has a direct impact on AHA’s work to help individuals take charge of their heart health and the health of those they can’t bear to live without. Donations to Go Red for Women will support the research, education, advocacy, prevention and awareness of cardiovascular disease in individuals across Southern Nevada.

From educating women on their heart health through the Go Red for Women movement to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic through scientific research and frontline support, the American Heart Association is a relentless force for Southern Nevada. Every 38 seconds, someone dies from cardiovascular disease and for nearly 100 years, the American Heart Association has been fighting heart disease and stroke, striving to save and improve lives. Women are disproportionately affected by heart disease and stroke, with cardiovascular disease claiming the lives of one in three women. Cardiovascular disease is also the number one killer of women, yet eighty percent of cardiac events in women can be prevented with healthy choices in diet, fitness and lifestyle. February is American Heart Month, and a great time to encourage friends, family and colleagues to focus on their heart health.
