Green Our Planet
Green Our Planet is a national nonprofit rooted in Las Vegas that connects students to the wonders of the universe through indoor and outdoor school gardens. Green Our Planet’s garden programming increases academic performance, heightens environmental conscientiousness and fosters healthy eating habits in students nationwide while alleviating food deserts where fresh produce is inaccessible. As one of the largest school garden programs in the United States, Green Our Planet is cultivating a resilient future generation of STEM leaders and conservationists, one seed at a time!
This September, Lexicon Bank is proud to support Green Our Planet, in recognition and support of Environmental Awareness Month, in its monthly Community Spotlight program. Recently, Lexicon Bank gave a cash donation and is partnering with the organization with upcoming volunteerism events. In addition, the Bank seeks to help raise awareness for the upcoming Giant Student Farmers Market event on October 20th from 10 am-2 pm at the Clark County Government Center.
Green Our Planet’s turn-key Outdoor Garden STEM Program in Las Vegas is the largest and one of the most comprehensive school garden programs offered in the United States. The gardens serve as a hands-on learning spot for students both in clubs and in classes using a curriculum developed by the nonprofit.
