Silver State Scholarships is a Nevada-based nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities through needs-based tuition assistance. By helping low-income families access private K–12 education and after-school enrichment programs, Silver State Scholarships expands access to safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environments for students across Nevada. Through strategic partnerships and support from Nevada’s business community, Silver State Scholarships removes financial barriers and empowers students to thrive academically, socially and personally.
During the 2015 legislative session, bill AB165 was passed providing a means for taxpayers to contribute funds to an approved Scholarship Organization in lieu of paying all or part of their modified business tax. Silver State Scholarships is proud to be one of these registered Scholarship Grant Organizations.
The organization grants scholarships of up to $10,094.00 per student to students living in the State of Nevada that would like to attend a private school and are entering grades K through 12. In order to receive the scholarship, the school must be registered with the Department of Education. The student must also be a member of a household that has a household income within 300% of the federally designated poverty level.
