LAS VEGAS, February 1, 2023--- Lexicon Bank is proud to announce The Springs Preserve as its February Community Spotlight in celebration of Black History Month. 

The Bank joins forces this month to advocate for the organization’s cause as well as raise awareness of its upcoming 14th Annual Black History Month Festival taking place on February 18th from 10 am to 4 pm. The Festival commemorates the tremendous contributions of African-Americans to Southern Nevada's rich history and culture. This large, family-friendly festival celebrates Black History through educational activities, live music, dance performances, arts and crafts, historic photo exhibits, and authentic African-American cuisine. The preserve features museums, galleries, outdoor events, a colorful botanical garden, and an interpretive trail system. Which has evolved into a world-class attraction providing a glimpse of the origins of Las Vegas since its inception in 2007. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978, the site served as the original source of water for Native Americans living here thousands of years ago. In 1997, the Las Vegas Valley Water District Board of Directors approved a plan to develop a preserve to protect and manage the cultural, natural, and water resources of the site.

Lexicon Bank’s support is part of the Lexicon Bank Community Spotlight program, a monthly initiative that highlights local non-profit organizations that are making a difference in the Southern Nevada community.
