Nevada Ballet Theatre

Nevada Ballet Theatre is one of Las Vegas’ most beloved community treasures and its impact on the performing arts in Las Vegas is without parallel. Now in its 49th Year, NBT continues to bring the Las Vegas community closer to the art form of dance. With professional Company productions at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, where it is the Resident Ballet Company, an affiliated Ballet and Dance Academy, as well as numerous Education and Outreach programs, NBT is at the heart of Las Vegas’ cultural landscape.

Lexicon Bank is proud to support and feature Nevada Ballet Theatre as its January Community Spotlight. We will be Dancing On with NBT to help make Las Vegas a more joyful place to live, grow and prosper. From January 1st through January 30th, Lexicon Bank will be helping collect donations for NBT's Shoe Fund to offset the cost of shoes for NBT's professional company dancers and students. To kickstart support, Lexicon Bank has helped purchase 250 pointe shoes and seeks support buying more shoes and other specialty shoes through the generosity of clients, partners and community supporters. Help us spark more joy in the community by donating to NBT today. Simply note in the gift memo line: Lexicon Bank NBT Shoe Fund so your funds go toward shoes too.

Help Us Make A Difference

During these difficult times, we often forget that the love of music and dance continues to bring joy for so many. In 2020, our beloved Nevada Ballet Theatre estimates over 2.6 million lost in revenue between canceled performances, including the 2020 production of The Nutcracker, and reduced in-person classes at their affiliated Academy. The cancelation of the 39th annual running of show is a huge disappointment for NBT’s mission inspiring Nevada’s youth as the event draws over 2,000 local students from public, private and parochial schools that receive the opportunity (free of charge) to see NBT's The Nutcracker each year through the School Matinee Series. NBT needs our community’s support more than ever to continue delivering exceptional shows and providing an outlet for at-risk children to dance and feel free. Help us reignite the arts!

Did You Know?

  • Non-profit professional ballet and dance companies spend thousands of dollars a year on shoes for their dancers. In fact, NBT spends $60,000 a year alone just on pointe shoes for its female dancers—that’s about 600 pointe shoes per season.

  • A professional ballerina can dance through 100-120 pairs of pointe shoes in one season, and they about $100 each.

  • NBT imports most of their pointe shoes from Freed of London, established in 1929.

  • Freed of London produces pointe shoes for some of the world's leading ballerinas, producing more than 150,000 shoes a year for companies around the globe.
