Nevada’s Newly Chartered Community Bank Triples in Size in the Wake of the Payment Protection Program
LAS VEGAS, June 16, 2020—Lexicon Bank, Las Vegas’ newly chartered community bank, announced today the appointment of Hilary Nelson as its new Senior Vice President of Operations and Compliance. Ms. Nelson’s addition comes during a rapid period of growth within the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program, and the bank’s unique position to assist hundreds of small businesses across the Las Vegas Valley.
As Lexicon Bank’s Senior Vice President of Operations and Compliance, Ms. Nelson will be responsible for leading and overseeing the Compliance, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Operations. Her immediate focus will be to ensure continuity among all areas of the bank regarding policies and procedures, along with the development, creation, and implementation of special projects. Additionally, she will manage and coordinate all federal and state examinations and audits.
With more than 15 years in banking compliance, Ms. Nelson has substantial BSA and operational experience and displays a strong knowledge of banking regulations with the ability to exceed business expectations.

As a seasoned compliance manager, Hilary Nelson brings to Lexicon Bank over 15 years of experience in Compliance, BSA and AML Operations, with six years spent in management and nine years in an executive-level position.
Ms. Nelson displays a strong knowledge of banking regulations with the ability to explain the intricacies of the rules and regulations with ease. Her expertise and background in regulatory compliance is well-rounded, with proven success in directing regulatory change at Axxiome and Zions Bancorp. She will be an immediate contributor at Lexicon Bank, leading an efficient and strategic corporate compliance policy.

Created Axxiome Americas’ Regulatory Change Management Process and was responsible for monitoring and tracking all regulatory change

Developed all regulatory compliance requirements for a new user interface system at Axxiome, and created detailed functional specifications for all regulatory compliance-related aspects of the system

Worked closely with Zions Bancorp bank executives and middle-level management to ensure compliance related processes were understood and followed across its branches

Oversaw the regulatory compliance management of Nevada State Bank and the Western regional banks in Nevada and California, and improved consistency among compliance policy and procedures and practices
Ms. Nelson has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Western Governors University, an advanced certificate in Compliance by the American Bankers Association, and a Regulatory Compliance Management Certificate with The American Institute of Banking.
